Window Sills
A customer sent in these photos illustrating a comparison of factory prime wood (fig 2: The paint on the window ledge) versus priming with Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer /MultiWoodPrime (fig 3: the paint on the fascia board just below the window ledge). Fig 2 is a close-up of the area in green.
After 16 months of exposure the paint on the window ledge has completely failed. It is easy to see that it’s not the paint that failed but what’s under the paint is what causes this type of failure. The window ledge and the fascia board just below it were painted at the same time. Wood that was primed with MultiWoodPrime is as good as the day it was applied. We have customers that have reported no paint failures in over ten years! The only question that remains when using MultiWoodPrime as a primer is to make sure you pick the right colour. You will have to look at it for a very long time!
