Skeena, built 1930

The Skeena M No.2 was originally launched in Port Essington, a cannery at the Mouth of the Skeena River in April 1930. For the past twenty years she has been in the care of good hands. We have a rich marine history here on the West Coast and it's fantastic that Vic has preserved some of it.

I did not get a full explanation as to the exact details that were involved with this restoration, but It is obvious that planking was replaced along with some ribs. CPES was used to treat some deterioration in the older wood, and to protect and seal the new wood. When dealing with beautiful classics like the Skeena, the application of Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer in those hard to reach areas will preserve and restore the old wood but will still allow breathing and movement for a smooth transitional repair.

"I am more than happy with the results, soft spots hardened up like new wood!"
