Six Steps to Restoration
Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer (CPES) encapsulates rot damaged wood like no other restoration product can. The products are remarkable in the sense that they can displace oil, sap and moisture, the cause of rot in wood. Wood damaged by fungi or mechanically, in log cabins, log homes, wooden boats, window sills and doors can easily be restored. CPES can even consolidate loose and crumbly concrete. When used in conjunction with our Fill-It (wood filler) or the Layup and Laminating Epoxy Resin, some structural strength and all visual aspects are restored. Further damage to the cellulose and Lignum (the natural glue that binds wood fibers together) is minimized, and the repair will still expand and contract naturally. DRY ROT as we know has now been permanently halted.

Areas of dry rot that are visible such as deteriorated siding on a house, rot on window sills, water damaged doors, or any exposed surfaces can easily be treated by brush or a roller. CPES will also reach deep into rot damaged wood via capillary action. This means rot that is developing deep inside wood which cannot be seen such as wood stringers in boats that are covered with fiberglass, large wooden beams in log cabins and homes, main supports for decks and docks, can effectively be repaired without replacement.
Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer (CPES) has a toughness and flexibility similar to wood. This means the wood can breathe allowing natural expansion and contraction. Because CPES is drawn into the wood fibers, a chemical bond between the cellulose fibers and the epoxy sealer is formed.
A secondary benefit of CPES was discovered after its use as a component in restoration. Surface coatings were NOT failing within their expected life expectancy. Once moisture, oil, and the sap dissolving solvents have evaporated, a thin film of epoxy is left giving paint or varnish an incredible stable and bondable surface. They are literally glued to the surface eliminating annual refurbishing costs.
